Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join the team. During this 6 month maternity cover contract you will be managing a team of talented individuals to create and deliver innovative and exciting multiplatform projects, particularly in the learning sector.
The Role
At Illumina a Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of a project to internal and external deadlines and is responsible for both the day to day management and overall quality of the project.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven experience of delivering complex projects with multiple clients and stakeholders
- Track record of managing a multidisciplinary team
- Understanding of the other component disciplines of interactive media: interaction design, editorial strategy, software development
- Understanding and experience of formal project management methodologies and tools
- Experience of creating, managing and reporting on project budgets above £100,000
- Ability to communicate and work with designers and developers, editorial and production staff and an understanding of their different needs and working practices
- Experience of managing complex deliveries to deadline and operating change control procedures
- Ability to report clearly and promptly to senior managers on strategic issues.
Where Possible
- Experience and understanding of public sector or educational clients
- Excellent client handling skills
- Formal Qualifications e.g. Prince2, SCRUM
- Experience delivering broadband online projects
- Experience managing software development
- Experience working with video
- Experience in delivering cross media projects (print, DVD, Online, mobile)
- Excellent IT skills.

Designers (mid-weight)(freelance/contract)
We are looking for talented interactive and graphic freelance/contract middleweight designers for our talent pool. You will have 1-3 years experience and will be expected to work on a variety of mostly screen based projects from concept to completion.
A proven ability to produce beautiful designs and artwork, a good understanding of web design, usability, interaction design and delivering user experience as well sound typographic skills should all be second nature to you. You must be able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines and demanding clients.
All the usual design packages (CS3, Acrobat, ideally some Flash), high motivation, flair, accuracy and well developed organisational skills are a must. You should be comfortable working on both Mac and PC platforms.
